As an entrepreneur, you’ve got a lot on your plate at all times. So much so, that it can be tough to find a way to relax at the end of the day. The key to not burning out, however, is to make sure that you’re well rested enough that you can put your best foot forward when need be. To create a healthy balance of life and work, be sure to follow these simple tips.

  1. Turn Off Your Phone 

Before going to bed each night, be sure to switch off your phone. It can be tempting to want to pick it up and check for emails or texts, but doing this will only cause more stress. Invest in getting a real alarm clock instead of relying on your phone to wake you up each morning.

  1. No Technology Before Bed 

At least one hour before bed, try and steer clear of using any technology. The blue light that you’re exposed to when you use your phone or computer can cause sleeping problems and interfere with your ability to get a good night’s rest.

  1. Check Your Schedule 

Right before going to bed, be sure to double-check your schedule so that you know what to expect for the next day. If you’ve got an early meeting, be sure to get enough sleep so you’re well-rested. If you’ve got a presentation, mentally go through your notes for what you are planning on saying. 

  1. Think About What You’re Grateful for 

Practicing gratitude is a great way to lift your spirits and prepare your mind for a good night’s rest. You can say what you are grateful for to yourself, or write it down in a journal before bed. 

  1. Keep in Touch with Friends 

Before heading into bed, be sure to check in with loved ones. Life can be pretty chaotic, and it can be hard to do this in the middle of the day. Remind them that you care by sending them a quick little message to let them know you’re thinking of them.
